This must be the week for learning lessons from the Lord while driving! This time I was driving along a back country road on my way to pick up my daughter from school. I was following someone and didn’t see a construction zone was ahead. We came to a stop as a dump truck unloaded.
Seconds can seem like hours when you are in a rush and I was anxiously looking at the clock while waiting for the dump truck to finish. We were cleared to go and I felt like I was going to make it to school on time. Just ahead was a quarry and the roadside is built up enough that you can’t see beyond it. However, just past the quarry is a nice straightaway.
Once I got to the straightaway my heart sank as I saw a train stopped ahead on the tracks. It was another delay and I was already behind. I quickly thought of turning around but knew that would take too much time. As I approached I felt like God said to tell the train to “move”. So I did. And it did. The train began to move backwards toward where I’d been.
As soon as the train started moving backward I felt like a God lesson was headed my way and here it is!
There are different kinds of obstacles we are faced with. Some like waiting for the dump truck make us slow down and stop. Eventually we get back on our way but momentum is lost.
Other times the hindrances are a little more obstinate and sit, blocking our path entirely as was the case with the stopped train. This type of “train” is big and heavy with a purpose: stop us from fulfilling purpose. From our vantage point an obstinate obstacle is something huge and unmovable which stands in our way. We have to get past it but feel powerless.
Yet God says, “Tell it to move”. If you have an obstacle in your path which seems so large and so immovable your only options are to sit and let it block where you are going in life or command it to move.
There was something interesting about the direction the train moved. It moved backwards not forward. I found this to prophetically speak.
When you prophetically command an obstacle to move out of the way it will move backward not forward. The obstacle cannot go forward ahead of you nor with you. In other words, the obstacle cannot obstruct or contaminate your future. It has to back up and get behind you.
Today I prophesy over you: Fear be removed and those obstacles which looked so large a minute ago will start putting their gears in reverse knowing the next word out of your mouth will be “MOVE!”.
God Bless, Anne Grove
