In my vision, I saw black bulls coming down from the air like rain. One after another they touched down on the earth and began to chase the few sheep who were grazing away from the flock.
But why bulls? Why did I see bulls coming down as opposed to some other animal? I believe God used the bulls to show me three things:
- The timing of the oncoming attack
- The type of attack
- The strength of our enemy
Last post I wrote about the weaknesses of the few sheep and the flock. Those weaknesses will be exploited by our spiritual enemies. Bulls are very strong. They are confident in their strength. Like a bull our enemy is strong and confident in his strength and in our weakness.
>>Why are we weak? We are made of flesh and blood and Jesus said, “The flesh is weak”.
Our enemy is spiritual and not made of flesh. They are not weak as we are. They are strong, powerful, and aware we like to live with ease; sleep instead of pray.
We tend to shrink from trials, to question God in them, and to fall. Sometimes we fall faster and easier than we’d like because of our weaker, lower nature commonly called “the flesh”. Now, by all means being “weak” because we are flesh and blood doesn’t mean we are defeated. Our enemy is just more confident of our defeat because of our weaknesses.
On the other hand God is stronger and confident not of our defeat but of victory. Because of His love for us we have been given weapons to learn about and use in spiritual combat. We and our weapons have to be “battle ready” thus the need to experience resistance and encounter enemies.
So, instead of running away from obstacles and hindrances we will be able to stand and resist. This series is all about being on the offensive and while you may have some unanswered questions as to where we are going, by the end of the series they will all be answered and you will be ready.
Next post I will share how prayer strengthens us to stand against an enemy who is stronger and more powerful than we are.
In Christ, Anne
