Pull the weeds and smell the roses

I’ve read a lot of books and cannot properly give this statement credit, but somewhere I recently read, “God rarely lets you see the progress made to your soul.”

Some times more so than others we see the wretchedness of our own soul and look to God for help and healing.  We make internal progress all the time but are mostly unaware of just how beautiful the garden of our soul has become.  Keep pulling those weeds but ask God for some time to “smell the roses” with Jesus.
