Don’t despise menial work! Don’t pawn it off! Instead do those activities you could do in your sleep, like laundry, mowing the grass, stocking shelves, driving to and from work – whatever they may be in your life so you can work internally. Do important work of God internally while doing those things which don’t require a lot of thought.
During your day there are specific tasks which require you to be “on point” and those are not the times to be internally focused on the work of your own soul. But if given the opportunity to do something like walk papers to another department or weed landscaping – take it! Those are things you can do which don’t require much thought or planning on your part. Then making the most of every opportunity trade your daydreams for Spiritual thought. Focusing on those things which are above is how you trade time for what you need from God.
